Junior Golf Update from Coach Chris

Hello everyone,

On behalf of myself and all our junior coaches, I would like to wish you all a happy and safe holiday. I also want to inform you of our junior golf schedule. There will be no junior golf clinics for the remainder of this year, our next clinic will be on Saturday January 9^th at 10:00 a.m.

I would also like to thank everyone involved in our program for making 2015 our best year ever. Our program continues to grow in leaps and bounds and we look forward to continued success and growth in 2016. Happy New Year to you all, we look forward to seeing you in January.

Junior Golf Update from Coach Chris - Meet Golf's Legends!

Hello everyone,

This Saturday, December 12 please consider bringing your junior to a very special event. The PNC Father/Son Challenge at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club and the LPGA will be hosting a complimentary Junior Golf Extravaganza for both boys and girls. The event will feature golf games and activities, take home free gifts and prizes, and perhaps most importantly, an opportunity to see true legends in golf competing with their own son or daughter as their partner. Golfers include Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Davis Love III and many more – in fact, to qualify to play, the golfers must have won either a major championship or a Players Championship.

The LPGA has asked both Coach Miriam and I to assist and coach and we are delighted to represent Heathrow/Legacy at this prestigious event. All juniors ages 17 and under will receive complimentary admission as well as one complimentary chaperone ticket when you register here https://www.girlsgolf.org/events/extravaganzas/2015-12-12

Day 1 of the inaugural Senior POY tournament is complete.  Robert Calcutt leads this 2 day tournament with a net 64.  We'll played!  The tournament concludes tomorrow with 9 am tee times. 

Course Conditions Update

Late last week we experienced an outbreak of fungus on the greens at both courses. We treated all greens at both courses with a fungicide application last week and did a follow up application today at both courses. The fungus is declining and should disappear throughout the week. We are also doing a fertilizer application to expedite some growth in the areas affected by the fungus. Several of our neighboring clubs in Central FL. are experiencing the same thing. We should be back to normal by the weekend.
